They talk about Landesa\u2019s mangrove work from Bay of Bengal and South-east Asia.<\/p><p data-start=\"97\" data-end=\"792\">Justine first discusses the context in Australia, where mangrove laws designed to protect mangroves from development are now hindering restoration. She also talks about how the mangrove protection laws are not complete, and can be overcome most of the time by applying for permits. These permits are costly and time-consuming to complete, so are holding up restoration of mangrove ecosystems.<\/p><p data-start=\"97\" data-end=\"792\">Mark West and Mardha Tillah then talk about Landesa\u2019s work to secure land rights for people on the coasts. Mark covers the legal context in different countries, from Myanmar to Thailand, and how this affects their work to get some of the world\u2019s poorest people the rights to use and manage their lands. Tillah talks about the situation in Indonesia, where mangrove governance is fragmented across multiple institutions.
